"It Is Now Post Time"
We're Off..
My apologies to The Critters for not taking care of the Ville lately, just had so much happening with storms and power and viruses and , and, and, having to work with Plain..Real quick., we have to move 20 tons of material, two cab over diesels 34 foot. hydraulic lifts, the whole works on these rigs..I am driving one, and now who is going to drive the other..I know it ain't Phil and the only other one staring at me is Plain..So I started yelling MEERE!!!!! Plain steps forward and says I'll drive it, I reluctantly said OK, stay right behind me, about a 35 mile trip..we get to the loading docks, and I back the truck into the dock, jump out run up to Plains truck and yell in, let me back it in...PLAIN., SMIRKS, YEAH HE REALLY DOES THAT, AND SAYS I'LL BACK IT IN. I SAID PLAIN NO, NO, NO, ....MAN IS INCORRIGIBLE.. SO THERE HE GOES TWIRLING THIS RIG AROUND AND DOWN THE RAMP AND BUMP!!!! RIGHT UP AGAINST THE DOCK...I OPEN THE DOOR AND AS I AM ABOUT TO CONGRATULATE HIM...HE SMIRKS AGAIN AND SAYS....NOT BAD FOR A GUY THAT NEVER DROVE ONE OF THESE BEFORE..What a treasure you really are Plain..I would like you to read a message my niece sent me via email and my reply..I would like your thoughts on this subject if you get the time...
This was written by Ben Stein, then Simple replied.....hope you enjoy...
little sanity please...
Only hope we find GOD again before it is too late ! !
The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS
Sunday Morning Commentary.
My confession:
I don't like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don't think
Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think
people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed
around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from, that
America is an explicitly atheist country. I can't find it in the
Constitution and I don't like it being shoved down my throat...
Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that
we should worship celebrities and we aren't allowed to worship God
as we understand Him? I guess that's a sign that I'm getting old,
too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these
celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.
In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this
is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it's not
funny, it's intended to get you thinking.
In light of recent events... terrorists attack, school shootings,
etc.. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was
murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn't want
prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better
not read the Bible in school... The Bible says thou shalt not kill;
thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we
said OK.
Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when
they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped
and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed
suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about..
And we said okay..
Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why
they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to
kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.
Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it
out. I think it has a great deal to do with 'WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.'
Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why
the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers
say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send
'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you
start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about
sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass
freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed
in the school and workplace.
Are you laughing yet?
Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many
on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or
what they will think of you for sending it.
Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us
than what God thinks of us.
My Best Regards, Honestly and respectfully,
Ben Stein
This Is Me Simple, yeah thats right Simple....(my Family calls me Butch, of course Plain and Streebs already knew that, just don't tell Butchie, he will change his name to SimpleSKI!!)
Thanks for sharing Mimster, miss you,..See I do believe in God in my own way, much as I believe that everyone else should believe in God in their own way..if they choose too believe in God, at all (I was once told that the deepest part of hell is reserved for the people, that harm children, and people, that deny the existence of God, whether that is true or not, I don't know, it does not apply to me, I will be driving the bus too hell for other reasons..)..let me explain further and on a more simplified scale..I don't give a fuck what your religious beliefs are, I don't care if you worship trees..that is your choice and I will honor it as such, now don't ask me nor denigrate what my religious beliefs are, and we both can have a nice life..believing in what we want without having to make sure other people believe what we believe...I do not believe in Religion...., I do state here and now to my Goddaughter, that I do believe in God and studied the life of Jesus Christ in a Philosophy course for three years. The difference in this study about Jesus was, we studied his life as a man, not as a God. and after reading and listening to what he believed in, and his words on subjects ranging from Heaven to Hell, if people want to believe he is not the Son Of God so be it..if he is not, he is the closest thing that God would ever have as a Son, so why not believe it..I do...In closing I would like to give you an example of this mans life..Children in ancient times were nothing more than chattel, to be raised to work in the fields or at their trade, for days on end..some were actually just killed if they could not work, some were sold by their parents into slavery.. This was the plight of the human child and it was the way society operated..Until one man, yep, Jesus stood up and told the masses, "THAT IT WOULD BE BETTER FOR A MAN TO WRAP A ROPE AROUND HIS NECK WITH AN ANCHOR ON IT AND JUMP INTO THE SEA, THAN TOO HARM A CHILD...!!!! WHAT??? WHAT DID HE JUST SAY??!!! No one had ever stood up for children before, he was the first, and as people started to follow him, and believe in his teachings the plight of the young was destined for change..He was the first advocate of children's rights, and THEE greatest Man that ever lived...I Love You and I hope to see you over the Holidays..and whatever God you believe in, drop a prayer for your old Uncle..I would appreciate it..Say Hi to the Family.
Love You.
Uncle Butch..
VODKADAY!!!
