"It Is Now Post Time."
We're Off..How about this a miracle, my puter is well again..Man, I was worried about this puter, it got sick Thursday last week..It usually waits till Friday..Glad too see it is alive and kicken..Came rumbling into the Ville sometime last night..I saw Blat hittin Slat with a shelaileigh, and yelling Hoppy Sant Putricks Day..The critters were all dyed green, you ever see a green goat, after being in the Yunk for four days..I have, and it just wasn't last nite..Just for the hell of it they died the parrot orange and were beating the feathers outta him...I liked that.. I joined them until Blat started swinging the Shelaileigh at me, then I split too the bunker..These critters def. know how to have a good time.., but they never want it too end..Hmmm sounds familiar...The best was Meere, his fur was entirely green, and that was ok, but you ever see a Meere Kat with green eyeballs..WOW!! that is quite a sight...I was ready too say glad to be back, but you know I never say that...Onto Madness, it is a sports venue that is appropriatly named..It sure is Madness..I honestly believe Syracuse should have been beaten, they lucked out..How many brackets would that have blown...Don't like Syracuse, not now not ever. Don't like their coach and don't like their program..Now that Duke bit it, anybody but Syracuse..I do not want too see them win this Tournament, besides them I would like to see North Carolina go down, that would add too the Madness. North Carolina looks formidable, we shall see, get too watch some games in Florida, as this week Spring Training will be entertaining the Yunk, they love that in North Central Florida..how could you not..
As Miss March Marches, through the madness, and baseball draws closer, it is refreshing too see how sports is a glue for freindship and good old fashioned camaraderie..sports has an amazing effect on our relationship to our fellow sports enthusiast..It is a good thing, sports helps young men and women to form bonds that sometimes can last a life time.. To some people those glory days never leave them..Personally, I love sports, although I must say not as much as in the past years..Still a lot of fun, talking with the guys about teams and players and who bet what where.., but in the end I do have more fun with horse racing than any other sport..Of course, you have March Madness and College Basketball ends.. You have the Super Bowl and Pro Football ends...You have, Horse Racing almost 24/7, 365 days a year, and if you like 27 horses running the wrong way (Austrailia), you can bet it around the clock.. Sure has come a long way from hey Dad, we gotta get over the garden by one to get the daily double in...Daily Double, I don't know anybody that bets that anymore...Oh well, enjoy the madness, those of us that are going to Spring Training, I know we will enjoy that, and then get ready for the best..The Triple Crown of Horse Racing...Remember this name Union Rags..He is a monster....Hey bring any madness you like today, as everyday...enjoy you Monday, it only lasts 24 hours...later...

Take a moment here at Plain and Simple to wish a Happy Feast Day to St. Joseph...
Went to church this morning to honor St. Joseph, who is one of my fave saints. Glad you took a moment to honor St. Joe today. He kind of gets lost in the St. Patty week-long fervor and March Madness.
I heard they have put up Yunk storm warnings from Tampa to Madeira and points south. Guess they heard we were coming! Lucky them, lucky us.
STREBOR......Are you embarking on that trip to Spring Training.....Are you a Chaperone? Do you carry a Stun Gun????When does this adventure take place so I can pay attention to Action News?I sure you will all have a good time.......We will try and keep the Ville Active why you guys are all gone. I will also watch a couple of Televised games to see if we have a Dancing with the YUNK shots..........
Ahhhhhhhh yes St Joe is my Patron saint. joseph is my Middle name even tho I go By Terrence Kevin Joseph. So I tip my Hat to Joe the Carpenter today and Most Days I say his Prayer every Day. Yep I do I just wish he would help me make more Putts.
Anywho Simple , and all the rest of you heading down to Clearwater have a great time Haven't been able to go the last two years because of Coaching and thats fine because i really love the game and the Kids keep me Young.
We will miss you Plain. Yes, Finn McPraying I'm one of the yunkers that embarks on the Clearwater trip. I'm actually one of the fans that pays attention to the game. It's veeeeeeeerrrrrrrry interesting! Bummed about my main man Chase Utley tho!
I would like to do a little testament to St. Joseph at TAPS, he is also my patron and favorite Saint..More on that subject later..
Hey glad to see you are OK McClearwater..yep, I heard they can't wait too see the contingent from Manayunk, I also wish Plain were going, but what he does with the team from Roman is more important. Coach on My Main Man Plain..Little known fact, Clearwater was originally known as Murkywater, yep, back before the Phillies started Spring Training in that area the water was dark and murky...Then the original contingent of Phillie Fans started this Spring Training sojourn, and as you know they as well as us always imbibed, in a lot of beer. We do the Miller Lite thing or The Coors Lite thing, well they did the Ballantine thing..let me pause here for a little tune..ah one, and ah two, and ah baseball and ballantine, baseball and ballantine, heeyyyyy get your cold beer, baseball and balllantine beer, to be crisp a beer must be icily lite, smooth and delicious precisely right, lively golden crystally clear, the crisp refresher, ballantine, ballantine beer.. HEY GET YOUR COLD BEER, BALLANTINE, BALLANTINE BEER... I digress, anyway when Philly fans or any fans for that matter consume as much beer and other beverages of choice, the end result is, ya gotta take a piss...Well, a tradition was started on MurkywaterBeach, that every Philly Fan that went to Spring Training and had too take a leak, went out to the beach walked into that murky water and let loose, with a stream of refiltered brew that would put out a forest fire..Over the generations, the new regime that took over the politics at MurkywaterBeach, saw they had too do something to clean up this water, as it was getting worse and worse, so yep, they spent millions of dollars and started using tons of chlorine every spring, when lo and behold all of that chlorine started to take the murk out of murky and then wait till you here this they put signs up that anyone caught pissing in the water would be sent to a Florida chain gang, ala Cool Hand Luke...Well in just a couple of years, a few million dollars and few million pounds of chlorine, and a bunch of Philly guys breaking coral in the Keys, lo and behold the water became Clear.. Thus the name ClearWaterBeach.. You heard it here first at Plain and Simple...Cheeshhh, this education is for free....
When.When.....are you going?????Damn.......One Question........
LOL
So sorry too offend you McFinn. You poor fellow you, you only asked one of your ah stup, ehhhh, errr, smart questions and as I see now, no one answered you.. WE ARE LEAVING ON THE 22ND OF MARCH IN THE YEAR OF OUR LORD 2012.....Hope that answers your question Sir McInquisitive....
YO!! Nobody will believe this shit, but I can't make this up, one of those words I now, have too type in, was DRUM ROLL EASY...........................TINMAN!!! Where the fuck is The General???
Yes Simple you are correct about the clearwater Name, but you forgot to mention because of the Philly guy's and the peeing in the murky water it was first called......drum roll eazy........."Beer Water", then they brought the chlorine in and made the Yellow murky water clear, nods and you heard it second here on Plain and Simple.
OK When are you coming back??????
Stup...errr. questions....maybe////I am just a little slow.....trying to align my stars but no luck...The Manayunk Review is my 2nd employer and I must keep this info for publication as the people of the YUNK need to know. I glad PLAIN will be here.........
Come on with these questions McFinn, I never know when we are coming back. Nobody ever tells me these kinda dates. I think they want too leave me wherever we may be...As far as I know Monday the 26th Day Of March In The Year Of Our Lord 2012..Please no more hard questions, you know how hard it is for me to answer simple questions let alone these plain ones....
Hey Plain, I didn't know that about BeerWater, really makes a lot of sense though..ahem....
Before TAPS, I would just like to say that St. Joseph, is a lot of times overlooked, for his contributions to the life of Christ..He was after all his Father..
My Grandmother, gave me the prayer that Plain alluded to, earlier today, when I was leaving for Viet Nam..
I would like to share that prayer and it's significance in my life..
"Prayer To St.Joseph"
Oh St. Joseph whose protection is so great so strong so prompt before the throne of God I place in you all of my interests and desires.
Oh St. Joseph do assist me by your powerful intercession and obtain for me from your divine Son all spiritual blessings through Jesus Christ our Lord, so that having engaged here below your heavenly power, we may offer our thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of Fathers.
Oh St. Joseph I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms I dare not approach why he reposes near your heart, press him in my name and, kiss his fine head for me and ask him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath..
St. Joseph Patron Of Departing Souls Pray For Me. and at this point I sure did ask for a lot of things throughout this life..and I have given this prayer too more than a few people over the years, and a lot of them have called and said thank you, it really works..I never wanted a thank you, but I think right now I should thank my Grandmother. I am sure she never wanted a thank you either, but Thanks for this prayer Nana R.I.P.
To end the prayer it states..
Say this prayer for seven days and ask St. Joseph for what you need..
It has never been known to fail..
It also states:
That you will never die in war.
You will never die by fire.
You will never die by drowning.
You will never die a violent death..
I also say it every night, and if anyone visiting the Ville needs a good prayer to help them in times of need, please say this and believe in it..You cannot ever underestimate the power of prayer..
To Plain, to all my fellow citizens, to all the critters real and imagined, to all the visitors that have a good time with us here at the Ville, and in particular today to, St. Joseph.. Happy Feast Day..
"Stay Out Of Harms Way My Friends.
TAPS
Sneaking in after TAPS - we are returning on Tues. March 26th!
And here is my daily prayer to St. Joseph - Because you were the watchful guardian of the Holy Family, please watch over us, Christ's chosen offspring. Like an alert father kindly keep far from us every taint of error or corruption. From your place of glory on high come to aid us in our conflict with the powers of darkness. St. Joseph, whom the infant Jesus so much loved, grant us what we ask, please. Assist us, Lord by the merits of your foster father, St. Joseph, spouse of your most holy Mother. May his help gain for us what our own efforts cannot. This we ask through you who live and reign with God the Father in the union of the Holy Spirit, one God, for the ages. Amen
