"It Is Now Post Time."
We're Off.
Ha! We're off. I think everybody knows that by now. Last nite was a beeg one for Plain and Simple and everybody that helped build and contributes and visits everyday..10,000 VISITS!!! and counting..Who woulda thunk that. It still amazes me that people read this shit, laugh, pee their pants, spit out coffee, pour coffee on their nuts, live in a menagerie, don't know nor care what day it is, correct everything that has been repeated, correct everything that has been repeated. I could go on for the whole post, don't have it in me right now.. Waiting for the South Of The Border Crew. Can't wait too see their theme today.. Believe me, these guys that are my brothers and my friends are a huge part of Plain and Simple..Just when you think they kinda quieted down, they only just begun.. There are great men in this World and I have met and served with many of them.. There are none greater than my Brothers and Friends. Yo, don't tell them I said that, they will want a raise..September, ah move on man, that Halloween is storming on us, and so are the baseball playoffs.
Phightins with 100 victories, quite an accomplishment. They will win the 2011 World Series. One player on the opposition last night I have too mention.. One, Chipper Jones, I know he grounded into a game ending double play, but the man is a flat out baseball player. If the Braves make the playoffs this year, he is a big reason why. He has been a stalwart in that lineup, seems forever.. He is another throw back, be happy in one way to see him go (another Phillie killer), and kinda sad in another way, just a few of those guys around..Hey name me a few guys you saw play that fit the mold of the ultimate ballplayer, you know, the new saying played the game the right way, played hard, was a true winner on the field. Forget off it, that don't matter, nobody is perfect..That will take me to my man..
Pete Rose (Charlie Hustle.) Could play any position and if anybody played the game harder, I never saw it, he was not the most athletic of players, but he excelled in crunch time and in showing younger players how it should be done. He even ran too first on a walk. He was the biggest reason those losers in Philly won the 1980 World Series.. No Pete Rose, No Championship Period!! As long as Pete Rose is not in The so called Hall Of Fame.. It is the Hall Of Shame..Gamblin, come on man, he didn't harm anyone but himself. Did he hurt the game, I really don't think so, and if he did too all these righteous fucks that never did anything wrong, guess what he paid for it, he went too jail and was banned from baseball for life. This for a man that has more hits in the Major Leagues than anybody that ever played the game.. Baseball is wrong on this one.. There are guys in the Hall Of Shame that murdered people.. It has been long enough. Do it before it is really too long.. By the way, I met Pete Rose a few times.. Pretty good guy, no the best, but a pretty good guy.., oh yeah, a couple of times he was betting horses.. SO FUCKIN WHAT!!! wake up baseball. Give me some good baseball nicknames and guys that you would pay too see play..
Utley and Pence on the Phils come to mind right away.., both these guys hustle and Utley might be the smartest baseball player I ever saw..We can enjoy Pence for the next ten years.. UH-OH here comes the Bandistos, gotta go.. ttyl...Puter talk. IDK what it means.. IDK I don't know what that means either..LOL!!

Ernie Banks,Willie Mays, Hank Aaron prolly the best all around players I ever saw.All five tools and always played all out there the kind of players I would like to build a team around. They say Josh Gibson was even better, my God shakes my Head.I would and did pay to see them play and would again, if there ever emeriges someone of that Caliber.Peter Rose didn't have a good arm couldn't run that good and didn't hit for Power but i'd take nine of him and win it every year.
Two of the current Phillies pitchers, "Doc" and "Lee". When they have a good game they never take the credit; they always say it was because of the team. When they have a bad game they never blame anyone other than themselves. They are true team players and all-around good guys! And, I agree w/Simple about Utley and Pence. In fact, I think the whole Phillies team is one that will always be remembered as the best Phillie team ever! Am I prejudiced, you bet your sweet ass I am!
Maybe the Best Pitching Staff of all time, only time will tell. I love Utley Pence and Planco the rest are prima Donna dog Shit like most of the League. Just my Humble Opinion.
And make that Polanco thankyou Sister thankyou.
I was a kid when my Dad and Uncles took me to Baltimore's Municipal Stadium, to see the Orioles and the Yankees. Score is 0-0 in the sixth, the Yankees have a man on second and Mickey Mantle hits a Double. Yankees 1 Orioles 0. Orioles tie it up in the eight 1-1. Yep. Mantle comes up in the ninth and the ball goes out Yankees 2 Orioles 1. A kid don't forget something like that.. Mickey Mantle still holds the record for the fastest time from home to first. Mickey Mantle could hit for average and home runs from either side of the plate. If big city livin, and a lineage with a history of early death did not run his life, he may have played antother five years. He didn't have too. Mickey Mantle is one of the greatest ball players and the greatest switch hitter too ever play baseball.
Tyrus Raymond Cobb. I don't know how many times The Georgia Peach hit 400 but it was a lot.., I do know Ty and Pete are the only two Gentleman Baseball Players (gag) to have more than 4000 hits, that is not only impressive, it is beyond impressive because it won't happen again.. 400 batting average or 4000 or more hits.. You heard it here first on Plain and Simple.
One pitcher I would like to throw out there (pun intended) is Nolan Ryan. How about 7 no hitters.. Digest that for awhile. I'm gonna watch some Phils..
Oh yeah one other thing. Big happenings at the Ville today.. Plain got to meet Mere.. Mere came into say Hi, had a Marine Corps hat on and eyeballs fastened to my head. As soon as he saw Plain he plastered his eyeballs to his forehead. Plain was a gentleman and said Helloooo Mere, right before he spit his coffee out, and peed his pants..LOL!! and you all thought Mere was a figment of my imagination. Uh-Uh.. Just ask Plain, if you don't believe Simple..
My all time team...Catcher Johnny Bench...1st base Willie Mc Covey,2nd base Ryne Sandberg.3rd baseWade Boggs, short Ernie Banks...left Hank Aaron..center Willie Mays....Right Roberto Clemente
Right handed Pitchers Greg Maddox and Nolan Ryan.....Roger Clemmons cheated
left handed pitchers Sandy Koufak and Steve Carlton
and you know I am a big Phillies fan Louie the Lizard but I must say although I like Chase Utley he doesn't come close to some of the great second basemen. For example Rod Carew, Nellie Fox, Jackie Robinson,Ryne Sandberg, Joe Morgan,Bill Mazeroski and a whole lot more.
I like him on the Phillies but he is good not great
Just talked to Dave, his all time team is players he actually saw play the game.. I got most of them on the first, second or third try. Then he told me he saw Ted Williams play. Gotta at least put The Splendid Splinter in as a pinch hitter...Let me try a few nicknames and end it on up.
