WOW!! talkin football, Joe Paterno's death not only took the front page, but the whole paper..and CNN. I know, he was a good football coach.. I am not going to in any way desecrate his legacy on the football field, and like I said yesterday, his situation is so sad, I would really just like to let it go..then I think of those young kids, and I can't..Talk more later, when more details come out, and oh by the way, did you see where Scumdusky was asked to comment on Paterno's passing.. COMMENT!! he should be dead... he shoulda been buried months ago...
Anyway,, old Eagles..I had them on my mind.. I think there was one in Colorado, that was 108 years old,, yep, his name was Old Eagle and he lived on Pikes Peak..It is said that his feathers were grey...OH SORRY!! we were talking about the football team from Philly...I did get interested in the Eagles, and I will refer to Jimmy McFan's comment.. It was 1960 and the whole town was interested in those Eagles, because in essence they were a football team, not this bullshit you have at the sparkling new football field now.. Once again it was a different space and a different time..Let me try and name a few of those players, and you guys help me out with any that I miss or you know..
QB was Norm Van Brocklin
RB'S were Ted Dean, Clarence Peaks, and Timmy Brown..
Rec.. McDonald, Walston and Retzlaff
Off Line. I know Bednarik was the center..that is about it..
Def. Tackle Jesse Richardson, I believe he went to Roman Catholic..
Line Backers were Baughn, Bednarik and Pelligrini.
Def Backs. Brookshier, Burroughs, Bobby Freeman, and and and, I know this other guy..sheeeeet!!!!!JIMMY CARR,, Wow, don't know where that came from but that is his name..
Walston was also the kicker..and Buck Shaw was the head coach, I think he had two guys as assistants..and a trainer that ran around administering the smelling salts.. What has happened to football.. A lot of these guys didn't even wear face masks..I gotta say those two games Sunday were, def. entertaining, hey and isn't that what it is all about..Let's entertain the sheople, on Sunday so they forget their problems till Monday......
Madonna, half time,, well there is one sheople that won't be watching her slutness.. I think she lives in England now. I have news for her from the Ville (yeah like she would care LOL!) GO THE FUCK AWAY, WITH OPRAH, AND TOM CRUISE AND A BUNCH OF OTHER FUCKS I CAN'T THINK OF RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!Stay in England and enjoy your billions, just stay out of the spotlight...your time has come and gone.. You can only sell sex for so long...and your songs and videos are not that relevant to Western Society. How about that Madge, can you believe there is a Simpleton somewhere that really can't stand you and your fucking music..(yeah like she really cares..)later guys, girls, critters and anyone else that cares too read this shit....

Well Bro, you named all the old Eagles of the 1960 season and, yes, we did love them. They entertained us, played excellent football, and brought us home a Championship! Some later years brought us some more entertaining players but not too many winning seasons. However, we still loved them. Earlier Sonny Jurgensen, Pete Pihos, later, Bill Bradley, Bill Bergey, Frankie LeMaster, Jerry Sizemore, oops I'm having a senior moment trying to think of some more names.
About Madonna, I think you guys covered it pretty well. Did you know she is currently dating a 24 year old? I guess that makes her 16 year old daughter very proud. I can't think of the proper word to describe her but you guys did a great job.
Old Eagles remembrance - during the late 60's and early 70's (pre-Dick Vermeil) Simple, the Big E, my husband Bud (R.I.P.), Floyd, Joe Renshaw(R.I.P.)and two others held season passes to the Eagles (7in all). Last game of the season around '73 or '74 the only attendees at the game were Joe & Joanne Renshaw, and Bud and me. It was a freezing day, the Eagles were winding up a dismal season and we had three tickets, which we decided we would just give away. Well, there wasn't anybody there that even wanted them FREE! The four of us huddled in Section 328, endured the cold, knocked off a couple bottles of wine, some hot chocolate and some coffee only to watch them lose the last game. We were what you would call true fans.
Everytime I saw Joe he would say, Mar, do you remember that game and it would always bring a smile to our faces. There is no way in hell that I would do that for the current shitty team.
Yeah, I remember the season pass days.., the year I had moved to Merchantville N.J. Floyd and Butch came home with me 11 or 12 at night..I don't know why they were with me but they were it was about the fourth game of the season, and as we pulled up in front of the house Butchie had to puke a little.Poor fella probably drank a little too much.. I had the bar downstairs in that house and we went in the backdoor.., naturally I yealled up to sweetie pie that the big guy was home...I don't know what time the guys left. I don't know what time I went to bed (downstairs) all I do know, is my remaining tickets for the season were sliced up and on a plate with syrup over them. I suppose she didn't like me yelling the big guy was home... anyway I didn't eat them just threw the dish the syrup and the torn up tickets in the trash and thanked God, I was done with that.....There is a book in the stories that can come out of those season pass days...
WOW!! Nobody noticed that I posted today as February 24th 2011.. Nobody noticed that I posted every post this week as 2011..and I'm Simple. I did it too see if you were paying attention, yeah right..I guess I have caught McFinnism.. Not only did I screw up the month, I screwed up the whole fucking year..Great name SIMPLE!!!!!I def. live up to it..
Your dates were wrong??????
Scratches my Head puts my Glasses on and reads it says January 24th on mine.Anf mmmmmmm it says 2012.What scares me is what happened to the 90's?
January 24, 1940 was the day Big E and Little Nell married. And, like Plain says the post does read January 24, 2012.
Now who is fucked up............LOL
I think I have told this story before, like nothing is ever repeated in the Ville...Caddied at Green Valley and they threw us a Christmas party. First class all the way. Main Dining room, massive crystal chandileirs. The guests they had for us was Norm Van Brocklin, Sunny Jerguerson and Tommy McDonald. They would ask us questions and if we got them right they would throw a football to you. Through the air and over, around the chandileirs. It was amazing and has always stuck with me. They could pinpoint that ball and very fun loving guys...with a little pop in them........
I went back and changed all the dates, you freakin loons, I went back as far as Jan.10th and it was still 2011...Plain I don't know what happened to the 90's maybe I should just start posting In The Year Of Our Lord 1990, and try and find out.. Go check Jan. 9th see if that is still 2011..I know one thing none of ya read the dates....!!!
Hey Jimmy McFan..How about that trade long ago in a land far away..Sonny Jurgensen, for Norm Snead..Are you even anywhere near serious..
With the line the Eagles had, Sonny was happy as hell. The only reason he drank was because of that line.Roman Grabrael, Norm Snead and King hill would of won 6 super Bowls under todays rules with 99 yards in penaltys if they could get a yard run. Nods and walks away.
Hey Plain, you ever get tired noddin and walkin away?? Smirkin and walks away..
I'm back, I am closing up for the 24th. How about the Big E and Little Nell, married on the 24th of Jan. In The Year Of Our Lord 1939...Long time ago in a land far away.Just think in that same year on Sept. 1, Hitler would invade Poland and the World would change forever.., Gone With The Wind...
