We're On..or Off..See how fast that January went cruisin by (Plain and Greeny), well wait till you see this baby.. If this is anything like January Streebs will be ecstatic. We have had 20 days above 40' and 12 above 50' I know that is 32 but that is what Shwartz said last night.. Maybe it has something to do with leap year..Little known fact, Leap Year came about after the Christmas celebration in The Year Of Our Lord 1210. That was the first year they sang the song the 12 days of Christmas..When the calendar turned too the New Year most of the songs critters were long gone..,but you got it, not the Lords A Leapin, They started a contest as being Lords they were very competitive, they said lets keep a leapin until there is only one left leapin and he will be the chief lord a leapin in the New Year..they said as long as they leap and what ever month they leap into will on the fourth year of that month add a day, and that will be forever known as leap year..Well Lord Long Legs, he was called Daddy Long Legs later in life.., leapt into February, and you got it, they added a day every fourth year and called it Leap Year..in his honor..So when any of our citizens or visitors are accosted with the question, how did they figure out leap year.. You can now explain it too them..You heard it here first on Plain and Simple..
I listened to a politician last night, one Ron Paul, he was the first politician I listened too since George Wallace. Go figure..The guy actually made sense..Now I know he is a Libertarian, and Easy Ed, told me twenty years ago that, that is what I am..I thanked him because I had never been called anything that nice in my life.. Seriously the man did have some good view points on the running of this country..He naturally will not win, he is not mainstream Republican or Democrat, which brings me to another bitch of mine.. How come we only get two assholes to choose from?? Is it all about the parties and the money? Here is a guy with what sounded like a somewhat logical agenda, and we will not hear from him again..I think somebody said he wanted to legalize heroin. I don't know about that, but I do know it is already legalized they call it Oxycontin..,and I got news for all the anti-drug establishment, most drugs were at one time legal and what happened when they delegalized alcohol, just read up on La Cosa Nostra, and the billions they made on illegal booze..We have already spent 4 trillion dollars on the war on drugs and it ain't working..I do know this it is a thriving market and it should be controlled to be kept out of the hands of minors and too collect taxes and too pay off the national debt..I also know Portugal gave up, and legalized drugs nation wide..What drugs that means I don't know, but the president of Portugal said it is nowhere near the problem it was.. So if that is a detriment to Ron Paul so be it, but sooner or later, something else is going to have to take the place of the war on drugs..because this aint workin.. I just saw where students at Drexal got caught using LSD, yep that LSD, Acid, Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds..When is the last time somebody got busted for LSD 1969!! Just goes to show you, people are going to do what they want to do, they only should be punished for it if they are under age or commit a crime, while under the influence, not because they like to smoke a joint after work or at a rock concert..Look at what happened to drinking and driving, once it became known that it was a major cause of deaths on the highway..I know it did not stop it, but it sure has hindered it. When I drove back in the 70's and even 80's I had a six pack in the truck with me.. I get pulled over for a violation and they wouldn't even say anything about the six pack..Times change, laws change, people change, it is time for change in this country, it is time to change child predator laws, it is time to change our policing the whole world, it is time too change the way these politicians interpret the constitution, it is time for big changes in tax laws, and it is time to change and fix the infrastructure of this country, not Iraq, not Afghanistan, not Somalia, HERE, put the people to work here, fixing the highways and bridges and buildings in our own Country..Cut the bullshit with this dependence on oil and actually find an alternative, or as Plain said drill of the coasts if that is what it takes..maybe in 10-15-20 years we have an alternative (probably have it now), then the drilling can stop.. We as a people and a government have got to do something to stop this slide into economic abyss, I see it every day..I sure hope someone like a Ron Paul or someone with enough balls to actually change things could take office. Ain't happening, we will have Obama for the next four years..Wait till Plain chokes on that one.., where that change will lead us is probably where we are right now..I know there will be a lot of people that disagree with me, and you are more than entitled to your opinion..but when you disagree just ask yourself..is this working?? Look around at the people you know that are out of work, look at the businesses that have shut down, look at the mess on wall steet, it isn't working. , but everyone is entitled to their opinion..
