We're Off...Saw Plains Superfecta in The Ville last nite..looks good to me..Dullahan, should be there, Union Rags, and of course I'll Have Another, then anybody...I just want to say one thing too I'll Have Another,,,,I'll Have Another....
See where Miss Pennsylvania dropped out of the Miss Universe Pageant, she said it is fixed...NO SHIT BOZZO, DID ANYONE THAT WASN'T FROM EARTH EVER WIN THE FUCKING TITLE!! I knew it was fixed that year that Miss Uranus lost...That stunk...
Onto VodkaDay, a bitter sweet one may I add...A near and dear friend of mine is having the last show at his Manayunk Institution, known too everyone as Keenan's Valley View Inn, and believe me it has been a main stay in Manayunk for 35 some years..I have a lot of stories about Keenans, and they are all good..I was with Billy for a walk through that day many years ago, when he was thinking about buying the business,  and I was amazed that this young man, went from waiter to bartender, to manager to owner..I am not amazed any longer..He transformed that bar and restaurant into a local landmark..He had a swimming pool membership for years, weddings, funerals, bands and all around good food and entertainment for as long as he has had the operation up and running..I consider Billy and his wife Beth two of my best friends. I want to wish them continued success  in whatever ventures lie before them..The show tonight will feature, Dad and Son..I have seen it before, but it is always great for a lot of laughs and a lot of fun...Dad is none other than Speedy Morris, and Son is my bunky, Chris Morris and their antics and jokes never fail to make everyone laugh, and have a good time..I would be remiss, if I did not mention, the generosity The Keenan family has shown over the years, too the many people that have had dealings with them..Many charity events have been held at the Valley View Inn, throughout the years...Many times I was the recipient of this generosity..I remember a time when business was once again hurting.. I was struggling to make bills, and payments, sorta like today...It was my Mother and Fathers fiftieth wedding anniversary and I went to Billy and told him I would like to have the party there and could I pay him in installments...He said well, what do you want to do for them E and how many people..I said about 200, and you do the normal dinner and bar thing and tell me what it costs..He looks at his papers and says..OK, 200 people 2 to 7, we will give them appetizers and chicken dinner, open bar for 5 hours, looks like it will cost two...I said what like two thousand dollars..He says no like 2.00 a head....you gotta pay for somethin...That my friends is the true meaning of generosity and the true meaning of a friend... The only thing I want when we leave Keenans for the final time, is the pole that holds the whole building up..It is mine...One night after much frivolity and vodka..Yours truly is charging around the room when I run head first into that iron pole filled with concrete..I must admit the Simpleton did not go down...When I woke up the next morning wifey was in the corner shaking..I said, what the hell is wrong with you..She said look in the mirror...LO AND BEHOLD, IT WAS THE ELEPHANT MAN...!!!
Goodbye to a place that will always be special to me...Be great too see everybody tonight, as always...
